{"id":115,"date":"2009-05-01T09:18:43","date_gmt":"2009-05-01T15:18:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.desertspringschurch.org\/blog\/?p=115"},"modified":"2009-07-15T13:38:25","modified_gmt":"2009-07-15T19:38:25","slug":"clarus-weekend-is-now","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.desertspringschurch.org\/blog\/2009\/05\/clarus-weekend-is-now\/","title":{"rendered":"Clarus Weekend Is Now"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I hope you&#8217;re planning on being with us tonight and tomorrow for some great singing, fellowship, and teaching\/preaching in our <a href=\"http:\/\/www.desertspringschurch.org\/clarus\/\">Clarus<\/a> weekend.<\/p>\n<p>A few things to say before we begin tonight:<\/p>\n<p>1. If you haven&#8217;t yet bought a ticket (or tickets), you can do so <a href=\"http:\/\/www.desertspringschurch.org\/clarus\/tickets\/\">online here<\/a> or in the church office, or you can buy them at the door when you come.<\/p>\n<p>2. Please do come early. Doors will open at 5:45 PM. The singing begins at 6:15 PM (great songs, full band!). The first session with Dr. Ortlund begins at 6:30 PM.<\/p>\n<p>3. I&#8217;m especially excited about the topics\/titles for tonight&#8217;s two plenary sessions. They seem like such a fitting way to begin our weekend of exploring &#8220;The Convergence of Doctrine and Delight.&#8221;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>First, Dr. Ortlund will give an exposition of Psalm 1 &#8211; &#8220;True Spirituality: Delighting in Truth&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Then, Dr. Storms will give us some insight into the historical example of &#8220;Jonathan Edwards and the\u00c2\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u00a0<em>Religious Affections<\/em>: The Soul Set on Fire for God.&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>Praying that God would move powerfully and wonderfully in minds and hearts through the teaching of his Word this weekend.
