Dave Bruskas, this year&#8217;s conference speaker, preached to this group of men from three churches, including Mars Hill Church, Desert Springs Church, and Trinity at the Marketplace.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00c2\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.desertspringschurch.org\/messages\/By_Series\/The_Man\">audio<\/a> for this conference is now\u00c2\u00a0available\u00c2\u00a0for download and includes two panel discussions and three talks with Dave:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Session 1, Dave Bruskas: &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.desertspringschurch.org\/messages\/Date\/AUG_07_2010_a.php\">The Man and His Lord<\/a>&#8220;<\/li>\n<li>Session 2, Dave Bruskas:\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0&#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.desertspringschurch.org\/messages\/Date\/AUG_07_2010_b.php\">The Man and His Woman<\/a>&#8220;<\/li>\n<li>Panel Discussion 1: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.desertspringschurch.org\/messages\/Date\/AUG_07_2010_c.php\">Tim Bradley, Dave Bruskas, Daniel Schuman<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Session 3, Dave Bruskas: &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.desertspringschurch.org\/messages\/Date\/AUG_07_2010_d.php\">The Man and His Church<\/a>&#8220;<\/li>\n<li>Panel Discussion 2: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.desertspringschurch.org\/messages\/Date\/AUG_07_2010_e.php\">Dave Bruskas, Ryan Kelly, Michael Kelshaw<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In a sentence, Dave&#8217;s purpose was to show &#8220;everything it means to be a Biblical man has to do with the\u00c2\u00a0preeminence\u00c2\u00a0of Jesus.&#8221;\u00c2\u00a0In his third talk, Dave gave three word pictures to describe how men often treat the church:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Some people treat the church like a <em>waitress<\/em>. If a waitress brings us enough good stuff, you might even give her a tip.<\/li>\n<li>Some people treat the church like <em>maid<\/em>. For instance, let\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s say you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re on vacation, and you might think it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s okay for the kids to eat gooey chocolate in bed and leave towels on the floor and the kitchen a mess. You&#8217;d never do that stuff at home. This kind of person thinks it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s up to the church to clean up his mess. He\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s\u00c2\u00a0strictly\u00c2\u00a0a \u00e2\u20ac\u0153taker.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d\u00c2\u00a0It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s okay to come to church broken, but it is not okay to stay broken. It&#8217;s okay to come deep in sin, but it&#8217;s not okay to stay deep in sin.<\/li>\n<li>Some people treat the church like a <em>porn star<\/em>. That is, they treat the church like a virtual relationship.
