{"id":2057,"date":"2011-07-06T17:25:10","date_gmt":"2011-07-06T23:25:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.desertspringschurch.org\/blog\/?p=2057"},"modified":"2011-07-06T17:26:34","modified_gmt":"2011-07-06T23:26:34","slug":"sermon-follow-up-god-speaks-in-the-book-of-john","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.desertspringschurch.org\/blog\/2011\/07\/sermon-follow-up-god-speaks-in-the-book-of-john\/","title":{"rendered":"Sermon Follow-up: &#8220;God Speaks in The Book of John&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In Sunday&#8217;s sermon, &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.desertspringschurch.org\/messages\/Date\/JUL_03_2011.php\">God Speaks in the Book of John<\/a>,&#8221; we explored the book of John to better understand John&#8217;s purpose for writing, expressed in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.esvbible.org\/search\/John+20%3A30-31\/\">John 20:30-31<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>What does it mean to believe? What does it mean that Jesus was the Christ, the Son of God? What does it mean to have life in his name?<\/p>\n<p>Of course, we want more than to understand what John has said here, but to know what he means in our very hearts.
