In Sunday’s Sermon, “God Speaks in the Book of Hebrews<\/a>,” we considered the high\u00c2\u00a0priestly\u00c2\u00a0work of Jesus Christ. By his blood, Hebrews says, we’re able to “draw near [to God] with a true heart in full assurance of faith” (Hebrews 10:19-22).<\/p>\n

In\u00c2\u00a0coordination\u00c2\u00a0with the sermon, we closed the service with an importnat song, “Before the Throne of God.” The words express well the good news written about in the Book of Hebrews. Perhaps you’ll use it to aid your prayers this week.<\/p>\n

Before the throne of God above
\nI have a strong and perfect plea.
\nA great high Priest whose Name is Love
\nWho ever lives and pleads for me.
\nMy name is graven on His hands,
\nMy name is written on His heart.
\nI know that while in Heaven He stands
\nNo tongue can bid me thence depart.<\/p>\n

When Satan tempts me to despair
\nAnd tells me of the guilt within,
\nUpward I look and see Him there
\nWho made an end of all my sin.
\nBecause the sinless Savior died
\nMy sinful soul is counted free.
\nFor God the just is satisfied
\nTo look on Him and pardon me.<\/p>\n

Behold Him there the risen Lamb,
\nMy perfect spotless righteousness,
\nThe great unchangeable I AM,
\nThe King of glory and of grace,
\nOne in Himself I cannot die.
\nMy soul is purchased by His blood,
\nMy life is hid with Christ on high,
\nWith Christ my Savior and my God!<\/p>\n
