Like Dr. Carson, this is not Dr. Zaspel’s first time to DSC.<\/p>\n

In 2010, Dr. Zaspel \u00c2\u00a0joined us for a weekend to speak on,\u00c2\u00a0Romans 9<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0and the wonder of\u00c2\u00a0God\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s sovereignty in salvation and in suffering<\/a>. This past\u00c2\u00a0July, Dr. Zaspel joined us for a Parenting Seminar weekend, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153The Word on Parenting<\/a>,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d in which he\u00c2\u00a0addressed\u00c2\u00a0three critical aspects of Christian parenting: Parenting with a Goal<\/a>,\u00c2\u00a0Saving our Children<\/a>,\u00c2\u00a0Directing and Disciplining our Children<\/a>. These are all memorable and helpful messages.<\/p>\n

But even if you weren’t with us for these seminars, you’ve still felt the reach of Dr. Zaspel’s shepherding love for God’s people, a he is one of Ryan’s closest friends in the ministry.\u00c2\u00a0In Ryan\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s\u00c2\u00a0own words<\/a>, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153he\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s really been a long-distance Paul to this Timothy.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Over a dozen years or so, Ryan and Dr. Zaspel have shared hundreds of emails and hours of conversation about the decisions and struggles of life and ministry.<\/p>\n

Here’s a short\u00c2\u00a0biography\u00c2\u00a0on Dr. Zaspel with links to his various writings:<\/p>\n

Dr. Zaspel (Ph.D., The Free University of Amsterdam) is a pastor on staff at\u00c2\u00a0Reformed Baptist Church of Franconia<\/a>, PA and is the interim Senior Pastor at\u00c2\u00a0New Hyde Park Baptist Church<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0on New York’s Long Island. He is an instructor in Bible and theology at\u00c2\u00a0To Every Tribe<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0missions, and Adjunct Professor of Systematic Theology at\u00c2\u00a0Calvary Baptist Seminary<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0in Lansdale, PA.<\/p>\n

His recent book,\u00c2\u00a0The Theology of B. B. Warfield: A Systematic Summary<\/a><\/em>\u00c2\u00a0is the fruit of his Ph.D. dissertation and has received high acclaim. Another work on this important American theologian will soon be published:\u00c2\u00a0Warfield on the Christian Life: Living in Light of the Gospel<\/a><\/em>. He also co-authored (with Tom Wells)\u00c2\u00a0New Covenant Theology<\/a><\/em>. Hundreds of Fred\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s sermons, articles, and booklets are online at\u00c2\u00a0biblicalstudies.com<\/a>. He is also a regular contributor to\u00c2\u00a0Credo Magazine<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n

Dr. Zaspel and his wife, Kimberly, were married in 1979 in Columbus, Ohio and have two children. In his spare time, Dr. Zaspel enjoys motorcycles, playing guitar, and boating.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
