Register for Clarus <a href=\"http:\/\/www.desertspringschurch.org\/clarus\/registration\/\">here<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Many of you are familiar with Dr. Carson, as this will be his second speaking visit to DSC.\u00c2\u00a0Dr. Carson was with us for Clarus in 2008 to speak on &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.desertspringschurch.org\/messages\/By_Series\/Clarus_08\/\">Galatians and the Problem of Self Justification.<\/a>&#8221; On the Sunday morning of that conference weekend, Carson\u00c2\u00a0delivered\u00c2\u00a0a sermon titled, &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.desertspringschurch.org\/messages\/Date\/MAY_04_2008.php\">The Ironies of The Cross<\/a>,&#8221; which is now a chapter in Carson&#8217;s excellent book, <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Scandalous-Cross-Resurrection-Jesus-Books\/dp\/1433511258\/desesprichur-20\">Scandalous: The Cross and Resurrection of Jesus<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>In this video, Ryan introduces Dr. Carson, along with Dr. Zaspel:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/UOFrjpVFAEs\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"400\" height=\"271\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>[RSS and email readers,\u00c2\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=UOFrjpVFAEs&amp;list=UU-wf5ZEo2-s5MNn-5P9Tlhg&amp;index=1&amp;feature=plcp\">click here<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0to view this video]<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s much to say about Dr. Carson, with his lifetime of writing, preaching, and encouraging the church in various ways, but here&#8217;s a short\u00c2\u00a0biography with links to several of his writings:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Dr. Carson (Ph.D., Cambridge University) is research professor of New Testament at\u00c2\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.teds.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\">Trinity Evangelical Divinity School<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0in Deerfield, Illinois. He has been at Trinity since 1978.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Carson came to Trinity from the faculty of Northwest Baptist Theological Seminary in Vancouver, British Columbia. He has also previously served in pastoral and itinerate ministry. Today he is an active guest lecturer in academic and church settings around the world.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Carson is co-founder along with Tim Keller of\u00c2\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thegospelcoalition.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Gospel Coalition<\/a>, a network of church leaders and churches for the advancement of the gospel through the church. Dr. Carson has written or edited over sixty books, both academic and popular level.
