{"id":4289,"date":"2013-03-29T00:18:54","date_gmt":"2013-03-29T06:18:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.desertspringschurch.org\/blog\/?p=4289"},"modified":"2013-03-29T00:18:54","modified_gmt":"2013-03-29T06:18:54","slug":"speaking-of-gethsemane","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.desertspringschurch.org\/blog\/2013\/03\/speaking-of-gethsemane\/","title":{"rendered":"Speaking of Gethsemane"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Wednesday night, Ryan preached a sermon from Matthew 26:36-46, titled, &#8220;Dark Gethsemane.&#8221; There at Gethsemane, as Ryan said, Jesus\u00c2\u00a0was in aguish in what laid before him so that we wouldn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t have to fear death.<\/p>\n<p>This passage raises a number of questions that we weren&#8217;t able to explore concerning the relationship of Jesus to his Father. With perfect timing, just yesterday <a href=\"http:\/\/thegospelcoalition.org\/blogs\/tgc\/2013\/03\/28\/you-asked-does-gethsemane-separate-the-trinity\/\">an article<\/a> was published to the Gospel Coalition Blog dealing with\u00c2\u00a0one of the questions raised by this text.<\/p>\n<p>The article was titled, &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/thegospelcoalition.org\/blogs\/tgc\/2013\/03\/28\/you-asked-does-gethsemane-separate-the-trinity\/\">You Asked: Does Gethsemane Separate the Trinity?<\/a>&#8221; Here&#8217;s the question submitted by a reader of the TGC Blog:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>When Jesus says to his Father in the garden of Gethsemane, &#8220;not as I will, but as you will&#8221; (<a href=\"http:\/\/biblia.com\/bible\/esv\/Mt.26.39\" target=\"_blank\" data-reference=\"Mt.26.39\" data-version=\"esv\">Mt.26:39<\/a>), how should we think of this relationships within the Trinity?
