From time to time, DSC has been blessed to have guest preachers who bring the Word to us on Sunday mornings. This Sunday morning,\u00c2\u00a0we will\u00c2\u00a0joined by Michael Lawrence, where Michael\u00c2\u00a0will be preaching in our services from 1 Kings 10.<\/p>\n
We’ve been grateful to host Michael for most of this week, as he’s been\u00c2\u00a0one of the speakers\u00c2\u00a0for the Simeon Trust\u00c2\u00a0Workshop on Biblical Exposition<\/a> hosted by DSC for many regional pastors.<\/p>\n Some of his written works are his contributions\u00c2\u00a0to the 9Marks Journal<\/a>, Christian History Magazine<\/a>, Boundless<\/a>, and Preaching Today<\/a>.<\/p>\n He’s contributed to books like\u00c2\u00a0Why I am a Baptist<\/a>, edited by Tom Nettles and Russel Moore, and\u00c2\u00a0Sex and the Supremacy of Christ<\/a>, edited by John Piper and Justin\u00c2\u00a0Taylor, and It Is Well: Expositions on the Substitutionary Atonement<\/a>, with co-author Mark Dever.<\/p>\n He\u00c2\u00a0has also written\u00c2\u00a0Biblical Theology in the Life of the Church<\/a>, Perspectives on Christian Worship: Five Views<\/a>, and most recently,\u00c2\u00a0Conversion<\/a>.<\/p>\n Michael comes to us from\u00c2\u00a0Portland, Oregon, where he\u00c2\u00a0is the\u00c2\u00a0Senior Pastor at\u00c2\u00a0Hinson Baptist Church<\/a>. He\u00c2\u00a0earned an MDiv at Gordon-Conwell and a PhD from Cambridge University in 2002.
