Redemption through a DSC Elder Candidates Eyes

2013 | by Clint | Category: Church Planting,Local,Orphan Care,Redemption Church

Elder Candidate Ken Wesselman and his wife, and Women’s Ministry Directory Julie Wesselman visited Redemption Church last week and give the following report:

What a blessing of God’s kindness and grace Redemption is!     Redemption small

“In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace”  Ephesians 1:7

My wife Julie and I visited Redemption, our local church plant in Rio Rancho this past Sunday and it was a blessing to us, a means of God’s grace in the Rio Rancho community. We saw a lot of familiar faces and some new as we got there early and took a quick tour of the facility. The worship center holds 150 and behind that a hallway with four more rooms. A small storage room and three classrooms. Pastor Carlos gave up his office for the ever increasing demand for more room for the children and is able to work from an office at home.

Over 85%  of the congregation rotate through a schedule of serving in the children’s area. Redemption only has one service at this time so those who serve with the children are able to download or listen to the message online, and the rotation is designed so no one serves with the children two weeks in a row. The worship team had four members this Sunday with DSC’s own Errin Jensen as a guest singer.

Pastor Bryan Lopez taught from Ephesians 1:1-14. It was the second part of a two part series on adoption, emphasizing adoption is for everyone, we have all been adopted, chosen by a loving father. And as such have certain rights of this inheritance, access to the Father, led by the Spirit, and we are not only a child but a brother or sister in this family of God.

The service concluded with worship songs after a 6 minute video on a family that has adopted many special needs children.

You can get the podcast or mp3 of any Redemption here.

Praise and thank our good God for His work in and through Redemption Church, DSC’s first church plant!

You can give toward these and future church planting efforts (both local and global) here.

And in the end, Jared Dart and Caleb Mangum faced off in the finals after defeating Clint Moore and Ryan Kelly in the Semi finals.

It was a great finals match, and Jared Dart ended up on top.

Thanks to all who participated this year, and especially to Ryan Gilmore and his community group for organizing the event!  And to all those that didn’t, BRING IT ON next year!
