Want to make an impact on the world for Christ from here in Albuquerque?ISI Logo

Be sure to visit the ISI table at DSC’s annual ministry fair Sunday January 26th after both services.

Joan Lasche, Director of Ministry at ISI ABQ invites you to come along for the ride:

“People from all nations are coming to Albuquerque!  There are approximately 1200 International students studying at UNM. They come from all over the world, many of them from closed countries in which the they have no opportunity to hear the Gospel.  You can be a student’s chance to hear about Jesus and experience the love that comes through Christ Jesus.  Many of these students will never hear the Gospel, many will never visit a church, and many will never see the inside of an American home. ISIABQ  ministers to these students in a variety of ways – picking them up from the airport, providing short temporary home stays of 3 days or less, providing meals to the students learning about Jesus in the Bible discussion groups, providing social events and trips for students, being a friendship partner, plus many other ways.

We invite you to join in where God is at work in this incredible, exciting ministry.  No matter what your age, there is a place for you.  We have volunteers of all ages, singles, college students, families with young children, retired people, families with teens, grandparents.  Each person brings unique gifts and personalities that are used by God in a myriad of ways.  I invite you to join in God’s work of making disciples of all nations.  YOU can play a part in reaching the world from your living room couch!

Last year we served close to 300 students, touching each of them with the love of Jesus. Some were touched through our welcome services, some through friendship partners, and many choose to attend a Bible Study because of the love and support they received from Christians during their first few weeks here.  This year for the first time, we are continuing our bible discussion groups in the spring semester because of the overwhelming response from students attending.  The students are being drawn to Christ through the love of American Christians.

This ministry is so exciting!  Where else can you meet and have an impact on people from every nation in the World?  I invite you to join in where God is at work. There are a myriad of ways you can get involved – cooking meals for the bible study, praying for ministry needs & relationships, going on hiking trips, providing transportation, being a friendship partner or temporary host family, picking up students from the airport, giving financially, helping move furniture, the list goes on!!!  One of our new volunteers recently wrote the following note, “Thank you for the best experience of my life!””
