Sunrise North Africa Partnership (SNAP) Survey Trip October 9-19

2012 | by Clint | Category: Church Planting,Global,North Africa (SNAP)

Remember Zach Nielsen?  Yeah, the guy who left DSC to go and plant a new church and make new disciples in Madison Wisconsin?  Well, as God would have it, we are now in discussions with Zach and The Vine Church about how we can partner to send out workers into the North African harvest field.  And as part of this growing effort, our second SNAP couple (who now attend Redemption Church) are leading a 10 day survey trip to our targeted region.  Two folks from DSC will also be going, and two folks from The Vine.  In total, there will be six team members meeting with workers on the ground, praying for wisdom, and catching a vision for reaching North Africa for Christ.

Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” (Matthew 9:37-38 ESV)

Pastor Zach offers the following prayer calendar as a way to go with them on this trip:

  • Oct 9th – Pray for God to draw people to himself in North Africa.
  • Oct 10th – Pray that we would be a blessing to all those we are in contact with in country.
  • Oct 11th – Pray that the SNAP team would have a sense for what city they would like to live in and try to reach.
  • Oct 12th – Pray for safety on the roads (Crazy traffic over there!)
  • Oct 13th – Pray for our families back home as they endure many days without us.
  • Oct 14th – Pray for protection from the enemy.
  • Oct 15th – Pray for unity among the team.
  • Oct 16th – Pray for the church to rise up in North Africa.
  • Oct 17th – Pray for there to be a vision for how short term teams could be used from The Vine (and DSC and Redemption).
  • Oct 18th – Pray for more long term workers in North Africa
  • Oct 19th – Pray for a safe trip home!

Click here to find out more about the SNAP vision, and here to find out more about DSC’s church planting efforts.  And if you aren’t a part of giving and praying toward this end, please consider jumping on board.  As leadership, our hope is that all DSC members would be able to give something toward these church planting efforts beyond their ‘general giving’ to DSC.

Some started with $1 per day in 2011, then $2 per day in 2012, and are now budgeting for $3 per day in 2013.  Maybe you haven’t started yet and $1 per day sounds like a good place to start, or maybe you have the means to start higher.  Whatever you are able, please consider joining us as we seek to send out our first family in early 2014 from DSC, and the next family in 2015 from Redemption Church.
