From Genesis (12:1-3) to Revelation (7:9-10) God has clearly shown that the gospel of Jesus Christ was meant for all nations. This term, nations, means more than geographic or political categorization. Rather, it points to categories of language, culture, and ethnicity. Since the scattering of the people from the tower of Babel, God has been on a mission to redeem some from every tribe, language, people, and nation. Christ Himself directed His church to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:18-20). Desert Springs Church (DSC) is a small, but important part of God's global plan to spread His kingdom to the ends of the earth. We long for the day when people from all nations will join us before the throne of God crying out in a loud voice, "Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!" (Revelation 7:10 [ESV])
God has clearly brought a short list of people groups and regions to the forefront of Global Missions here at DSC. As an ongoing effort to remain focused on seeing God's glory spread broader and deeper among these specific peoples and regions, we intentionally limit the breadth of our missions' involvement and investment.
The three core initiatives of Global Missions at DSC are:
- Sunrise North Africa Partnership (SNAP)
Church planting among unreached peoples
- Rabinal Achi Partnership
San Miguel Chicaj, Guatemala
- Native American Partnership
Reservations and Pueblos of New Mexico and Arizona
Mobilization of Time, Talent, and Treasure
All of God's people are called to missions. If you are not called to go, then you are called to support, encourage, and pray for those who are called to go. Each core initiative provides many ways for you to invest your time, talent, and treasure. God has richly blessed DSC's body and we envision Him moving among us to use these blessings of talent and treasure to bless the nations. We long to spread His glory broader and deeper through loving service, faithful support, informed prayer, and bold gospel proclamation.
