He writes:<\/p>\n<p><!--StartFragment--><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">On vacation I was meditating on <span>Luke 10:17-20<\/span> where Jesus tells us not to be overly excited about our ability to do feats of triumph in defeating the devil. Rather he says, fix the root of your joy in this: Your names are written in heaven. Amazing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Most of us are moved more by the fireworks of miracles than by the mere assurance of salvation. Something is amiss. So I lingered long enough here to put my heart right. And in the process wrote a poem.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><strong>Rejoice! Your Names Are Written in Heaven<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span><em><strong>Luke 10:17-20 &#8211;<br \/>\n<em><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">The seventy-two returned with joy, saying, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d And he said to them, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you. Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">How quickly does a lightening bolt\u00e2\u20ac\u00a8<br \/>\nFall from the blackened clouds and strike the forest fair!\u00e2\u20ac\u00a8<br \/>\nHow powerful the fleeting volt\u00e2\u20ac\u00a8<br \/>\nThat vanishes at once and leaves a cinder there!<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">So quickly falls the ancient Snake\u00e2\u20ac\u00a8<br \/>\nFrom his condemning height with all his cruel pangs,\u00e2\u20ac\u00a8<br \/>\nWhen in Your name and for Your sake\u00e2\u20ac\u00a8<br \/>\nWe wield your mighty word and break his deadly fangs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">And as we leap to celebrate\u00e2\u20ac\u00a8<br \/>\nThis triumph in our hands, this best of mountain peaks,\u00e2\u20ac\u00a8<br \/>\nYour voice, so calm and full of weight,\u00e2\u20ac\u00a8<br \/>\nCuts through our ecstasy, our festival, and speaks:<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Do not rejoice in this, dear ones,\u00e2\u20ac\u00a8<br \/>\nThat Satan and his hordes are subject to your voice,\u00e2\u20ac\u00a8<br \/>\nBut that, in heav\u00e2\u20ac\u2122n as treasured sons,\u00e2\u20ac\u00a8<br \/>\nYour names are written down.
