Who Is Jesus?
Good Man? Good Teacher?

Connect

At Desert Springs Church (DSC) we connect through spreading God's glory broader and deeper for the worship of Christ, in community with His people, on mission by the power of the Spirit with the gospel to the ends of the earth. Scripture directs how we do all things and the gospel fuels whatever we do.

Here is what that looks like in a chart:

Ways to Connect

  • Come to either of our worship services on Sunday mornings (9:00 AM and 10:45 AM). If you're new to DSC, please stop by the Visitors Kiosk in the foyer.

  • Fill out the Communication Card in the bulletin or simply email us at info@desertspringschurch.org for prayer, questions, comments, etc.

  • Attend the Newcomers' Reception on the last Sunday of the month held after each service in the West Wing. At the reception you will get to know some of DSC's leadership and learn more about the church.

  • Join us on the last Wednesday of the month for our church-wide dinner at 5:30 PM and the Lord's Supper service at 6:30 PM.

  • Download the church's calendar. It will help you plan the year around important DSC dates.

  • Watch the News/Events page for the weekly schedule, Bible studies, Sunday morning classes, seminars, conferences, opportunities to serve, mission trips, etc.

  • Subscribe to DSC's Blog, E-Newsletter, and Prayer Force.

  • Follow us on Facebook and Twitter.

  • Consider if you want to become a member by attending our membership class called Knowing Christ, Knowing the Church (KCKC).

  • Find members through our Church Directory.

  • Become part of a community group.

  • Go on mission locally and globally.

  • See what God is doing in and through the many different ministries here at DSC and plug in somewhere.

  • Join a women's Bible study or a men's huddle group.

Saturday Seminar, "How to Study the Bible: Minor Prophets"
Save the Date
Every August as a church we do a Saturday Seminar on "How to Study the Bible." This summer the date is August 19 from 9:00 AM till noon. The topic this year is Minor Prophets, using Habakkuk as an example. We'll look at things like the structure of Habakkuk, joy in the Lord in the midst of suffering, the unity and theology of "The Twelve" (what the Minor Prophets are called in the Hebrew tradition), and interpreting the prophets. Save the date for now. Registration will open soon.
Cookie Bar Needs
Volunteers Needed
Do you enjoy having a cup of coffee or doughnut at the cookie bar on Sundays? Are you looking for a place to serve at DSC? Then we have an opportunity for you! We are looking for volunteers to staff the cookie bar after second service and clean up. For more details on what is involved or to volunteer email Alicia Whitacre.
New Men's Saturday Huddle Study
Volunteers Needed
For men ... summer book study on the Trinity! Beginning July 8th, the DSC Saturday morning huddle will read through two books. One explores the biblical basis for the Trinity and the second emphasizes the devotional implications of the Trinity for the Christian life. The huddle meets at 8:00 AM on Saturdays. Email David Pugh to sign up.
Front Door Ministries
Volunteers Needed
We are in need of more volunteers to serve in our Front Door Ministry. There are four different areas that you can serve in: Section Hosting, Greeters, Connection Minsitry, and Newcomers Reception. For more information you can fill out the interest form.
Lord's Supper: "Do This in Remembrance of Me"
June 28, 2017
New Youth Meeting
Thursdays at 6:30 PM
On Thursday nights from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM our young people worship God by sitting under the expository preaching on His Word and singing His Praise led by our Youth Band. They are welcome to come as early as 5:00 PM to fellowship with one another. We will continue to meet on Sundays during second service in a time of deeper Bible study and prayer. All youth are welcome.
Find a Community Group
Join Anytime
Community groups are small groups, of about 10-20 adults, that meet in homes throughout the city, usually once a week. This is the primary way that we do many of the "one another's" of the New Testament: like encourage one another, serve one another, and forgive one another. Email Community Groups to find a group. You will also find a map of groups on the Community Groups webpage. But a much better way is to meet some community group leaders. You can do this at the Newcomers Reception, which we have once a month, immediately following each service on that Sunday. This month the reception will be Sunday, April 30. You can also ask about community groups at the Connection Center after service, on any Sunday.
