Vision and Purpose
Just as we eagerly welcome and attend to the guests who enter our homes, Front Door Ministries aims to welcome and show hospitality to the members and visitors who walk through the doors of our church building. This ministry intends to steward the interest to worship with the body and hear God’s Word displayed by each person’s efforts to gather together with us. We will purposefully seek to make each person feel welcomed, their presence appreciated, and assist them practically in directions and finding answers to their questions.

Door Greeters extend kindness and hospitality as a first impression to all who enter our doors at Desert Springs Church. You'll find these greeters at the front entry of the building and handing out bulletins on the way into the Worship Center.

Interested in serving? Door greeters are expected to arrive 20 minutes before service and to stay in their positions until 10 minutes after the service starts. You will be stationed in pairs and asked to serve according to your availability, at least once a month.

The Connection Center is a one-stop-shop for learning about Desert Springs Church. Here, visitors are welcomed personally and helped with information about what our church believes and how to get involved in things like Community Groups or sign up for ministry events. Attendants also direct traffic on Sundays, helping visitors know where to take their children.

Interested in serving? Attendants at the Connection Center are asked to sign-up according to their availability and at least once a month. Attendants arrive 20 minutes before the worship service and remain 10 minutes after the service begins. During the final song, they exit the service early. After the 9:00 AM service, attendants stay for 10 minutes following the service. After the 10:45 AM service, attendants stay until 12:30 PM.

Section Hosts extend biblical hospitality on Sundays in the Worship Center in several ways. Hosts come early to mingle and greet in one of six sections in our Worship Center. They learn names, hear stories, and look out for visitors. When the service starts, if it's a full Sunday, hosts help latecomers find seats in their section.

Interested in serving? Section Hosts arrive 15 minutes before their assigned service for prayer and to greet in their section. Hosts serve on either odd or even months. Substitutes are available for Sundays when you'll be out.

The Newcomers Reception is our most personal way of getting acquainted with our visitors. Hosted after both services once each month, this ministry makes it easy for those who are visiting our church to learn about what we believe, what we do around here, what we're like, and how to get involved. It's also an opportunity for us to show the love of Christ in a personal fashion through hospitality and conversation. We want them to say, "these are very welcoming people and I'd like to come back."

Interested in serving? On Reception Sundays, Newcomers Reception Greeters exit the service a bit early to pray and prepare for our visiting guests. When guests arrive, they make conversation and get acquainted with our guests. A pastor gathers the group and offers and introduction to our church and takes questions. Greeters serve on either odd or even months. Substitutes are available for Sundays when you'll be out.
