Women's Fall Bible Study 2017

The Women's Ministry at DSC is committed to challenge women to know God and grow in relationship with Him by studying His Word. Job 36:26 says, "Behold, God is great, and we know him not; the number of his years is unsearchable."”" This great God has given us His word that we might seek Him and know Him.

This fall, we invite you to join us as we study the Book of Colossians. In Colossians 1:9-11, Paul prays that they, "may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God." Our hope is that through the study of God's Word, in the context of small groups, we will encourage one another in this endeavor.

Class size is limited, so don't wait to register. Childcare is available for the morning studies. Please register each child.

Colossians: Christ Alone Is Supremely Sufficient for Salvation and Sanctification

by the Women’s Ministry of DSC

Join us as we dive into the book of Colossians. Paul wrote this letter to the church in Colossae to strengthen it against false teaching. At that time, the culture around them had strict rules concerning eating and drinking, as well as religious festivals. Paul shows in this letter that according to God’s word, Christ is superior over all human philosophies and traditions. This letter speaks of who Christ is, “He is the image of the invisible God”, (1:15) and what Christ accomplished on the cross for us, “He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins”, (1:13-14). Conforming to the image of Christ is key in this book, as it explains how we are to put off sin and put on right living by setting our hearts and minds on things above rather then on the earthly things.

The study of this book will give a sense of awe to your view of Christ and urgency to depend on Him as we will see that the power to live out a Godly life comes only from Christ. We are commanded to love God with the totality of our heart, soul and strength as well as our mind. So we must engage our minds within the scriptures thus renewing our minds and transforming our hearts.
