The Women's Ministry of Desert Springs Church (DSC) seeks to uphold the vision of DSC by encouraging women to embrace living life for the glory of God. Our aim is to help them live in such a way that pleasing and honoring God drives all of their thinking, all of their affections, and all of their will (John 4:34; 2 Corinthians. 5:9; 2 Corinthians. 5:14-15; 1 Corinthians. 10:31).

We endeavor to help women grow through the study of God’s Word so that they will come to see and embrace the sufficiency of Scripture, meaning that it is:

Authoritative: The Bible is our supreme standard for what we should believe and how we should behave because it comes from God, who cannot lie (Titus 1:2; Hebrews 6:18; 1 John 2:21). We seek to be submissive to it’s authority so that it becomes the driving force behind all of our decisions in life.

Clear: The Holy Spirit, who indwells His people, makes the Bible understandable to all who read it with the desire to be submissive to what it says (2 Peter 3:15-16; Colossians. 1:9-10; Luke 24:15-27). Therefore, we read prayerfully and ask the Holy Spirit for understanding, insight and meaning.

Necessary: It is impossible for us to live the Christian life without the Bible (Matthew. 4:4). Therefore we must read it, study it, memorize it, and ponder it (Psalms 119; Psalms 1).

Sufficient: The Bible contains all that we need to know concerning God’s will, enabling us to live lives that are pleasing to Him (2 Timothy 3:16-17; Hebrews 4:12).

As we spend time studying the Scriptures, we seek to:

Proclaim the Gospel: Our desire is that through time in the Word and discussion of the Scriptures, the Lord will open eyes to behold His glory and bring about salvation (Titus 3:4-8; 2 Corinthians. 4:1-6).

Live out the Gospel: Through faith in the saving work of Christ on the cross, we are now children of God. This means that as forgiven sinners we now have freedom from enslavement to sin. We are beloved, holy, unblemished children of God who reside as shining lights in the world. This reality of who we are in Christ is a means by which we are able to fight the remaining presence of sin and live righteous lives that please and honor God. We do this by having our minds renewed through time spent in the Scriptures so that we might begin to think, desire and do what is honoring and pleasing to God. Through our dependency on Him and His word, God works within the believer transforming them into the image of Christ, bringing all glory to Himself. (2 Corinthians. 5:9, 14-15; Romans 8:28-29; Philippians. 2:14; 2 Peter 1:3-4; Ephesians chapters 1-3).

We desire to encourage women to depend on the righteousness of Christ and the empowerment of the Holy Spirit in order to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ. This ministry offers opportunities for Bible study, prayer, and fellowship. As God uses these disciplines, our prayer is that women will become more captivated with Him and live for His glory.
