New to DSC
Welcome to Desert Springs Church!
We are glad you are here and we hope you enjoy your online visit.
DSC is a church committed to spreading God's glory broader and deeper for the worship
of Christ, in community
with His people, on mission
by the power of the Spirit with the gospel to the ends of the earth. Scripture directs how we do all things and the gospel fuels whatever we do.
Here is what that looks like in a chart:
Another vital element of our DNA is planting churches
. Go to the About
page to learn more about the church—beliefs
Come and experience a worship service with us. We meet on Sunday mornings at 9:00 AM and 10:45 AM (mid and high school
meets in the Youth Room). Click here
for driving directions. Please make sure to stop by our Visitors Kiosk in the foyer and on the last Sunday of the month attend the Newcomers' Reception after each service in the West Wing. At the reception you will get to know some of DSC's leadership
and learn more about the church
We also come together on the last Wednesday of the month for our church-wide dinner at 5:30 PM and the Lord's Supper
service at 6:30 PM.
Childcare is available on Sundays (birth - 5th grade) and on our Lord's Supper services (birth - four-year-olds).
We offer many ways of keeping up-to-date with what is happening at DSC:

; what is the gospel; what is the Community Groups
vision; how we do mission
locally and globally; what ministries
surround the church; etc.

Saturday Seminar, "How to Study the Bible: Minor Prophets"
Save the Date
Every August as a church we do a Saturday Seminar on "How to Study the Bible." This summer the date is August 19 from 9:00 AM till noon. The topic this year is Minor Prophets, using Habakkuk as an example. We'll look at things like the structure of Habakkuk, joy in the Lord in the midst of suffering, the unity and theology of "The Twelve" (what the Minor Prophets are called in the Hebrew tradition), and interpreting the prophets. Save the date for now. Registration will open soon.
Cookie Bar Needs
Do you enjoy having a cup of coffee or doughnut at the cookie bar on Sundays? Are you looking for a place to serve at DSC? Then we have an opportunity for you! We are looking for volunteers to staff the cookie bar after second service and clean up. For more details on what is involved or to volunteer email Alicia Whitacre
New Men's Saturday Huddle Study
For men ... summer book study on the Trinity! Beginning July 8th, the DSC Saturday morning huddle will read through two books. One explores the biblical basis for the Trinity and the second emphasizes the devotional implications of the Trinity for the Christian life. The huddle meets at 8:00 AM on Saturdays. Email David Pugh
to sign up.
Lord's Supper: "Do This in Remembrance of Me"June 28, 2017

New Youth Meeting
Thursdays at 6:30 PM
On Thursday nights from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM our young people worship God by sitting under the expository preaching on His Word and singing His Praise led by our Youth Band. They are welcome to come as early as 5:00 PM to fellowship with one another. We will continue to meet on Sundays during second service in a time of deeper Bible study and prayer. All youth are welcome.
Find a Community Group
Community groups are small groups, of about 10-20 adults, that meet in homes throughout the city, usually once a week. This is the primary way that we do many of the "one another's" of the New Testament: like encourage one another, serve one another, and forgive one another. Email Community Groups
to find a group. You will also find a map of groups on the Community Groups webpage
. But a much better way is to meet some community group leaders. You can do this at the Newcomers Reception, which we have once a month, immediately following each service on that Sunday. This month the reception will be Sunday, April 30. You can also ask about community groups at the Connection Center after service, on any Sunday.
